Experience the atmosphere of antiquity, wine, delicious food, hot springs and complete relaxation. True 48 hours of hedonism!
What's the Plan?
SATURDAY
We'll leave Belgrade at 9:00 a.m. and arrive to Niš in 2.5 hours.
Niš is not just a city, it is a turning point between different eras. Constantine the Great, the Roman emperor who first legalised Christianity and founded Constantinople, was born here. He was indeed born right here in Naissus, as Niš was then called.
What Will We See in Niš?
• A tour of the fortress in English
• Coffee in the fortress cellar
• Views of the amphitheatre
• A real Roman villa with mosaics, excavations, and a huge white dome, which is like an open-air museum.
Then we visit a luxury winery where wines are aged in five different types of vessels, ranging from classic barrels to amphorae (for those who's eager to try ancient Roman winemaking technology).
• Tour guided by the winery staff
• Tasting of four wines with a hearty snack (included).
Additional orders from the menu are possible.
The most curious people can try wine straight from the amphora!
In the evening, we travel to Kursumlija to some of the oldest Serbian thermal springs. We stay at a SPA hotel and go to the baths in the morning, like the Romans did: calm and fancy.
SUNDAY
After a relaxing morning in SPA, we have lunch and then move to another part of Niš to see Ćele kula – a tower with the skulls of Serbian rebels embedded in it, a true monument to resistance.
On our way back we see the monument in Bubanj Memorial Park – three giant fists threatening the sky at sunset.
We return to Belgrade at around 9 p.m.
